May 20th – May 29th, 2017
The University of Delaware Chorale has been invited to sing as the choir-in-residence with the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra for three performances of Orff’s Carmina Burana in Tel Aviv, Ashdod, and Jerusalem. We are seeking 30 additional singers to fill out the chorus. In addition to rehearsals with the orchestra, we anticipate excursions to the Dead Sea, Jaffa, and the Sea of Galilee. Accommodations are in a new youth hostel in Jerusalem.
Package includes round-trip airfare from Newark Liberty Airport, seven nights lodging at a recently renovated youth hostel in Jerusalem, all ground transfers in Israel, excursions, and about half of the meals during our stay. Acceptance is by audition, either in person on the UD Campus or by video submission. Applications will not be considered complete without the required refundable deposit of $399 (less a $75 application fee). Applicants will be notified of acceptance by December 24th, 2016.
