Being in France alone was a wonderful treat, but when combined with amazing vocal and instrumental musicians in different venues to perform was something I will never forget. It was humbling to sing repertoire in spaces for which the music was designed. The audiences were also so attentive and appreciative. I am so grateful to have had this experience. Hoping to do it again!
Coming in a little intimidating of a prospect, and knowing I wouldn’t know anyone was a little scary at first. As soon as I hopped on the first flight, though, the group was welcoming, fun, and low-stress. I felt one with the music and the people around me throughout the entire trip; the whole experience was seamless in nature. This symposium was breath taking and surreal, and my only wish is that I could go back and do it all over again sooner!
It was so wonderful and transformative. And that seems to be the theme for me for the entire symposium. Even the excursions; walking through the lavender fields, walking into Van Gogh’s bedroom… were such magical experiences for me
This program was a beautiful experience. Provence has its own music of colors, scents, and tastes; getting to harness that energy and sing with a group of excellent musicians just feels right. That the musicians were also a group of friendly, interesting people made the overall experience even better.
The festival was such a great experience for me and for the rest of the singers … It was so fantastic getting to make music at such a high level, and forging friendships and connections with fellow festival-goers. I think we brought a lot of joy and music to Aix!
